RoHS Compliance

Lead Free Manufacturing
Magna Systems takes environmentally responsible manufacturing seriously and uses only components, materials and processes which are lead (Pb) free. At Magna Systems we use only gold finishes on our printed circuit boards, lead free qualified components and lead free solders and assembly techniques so that all of our products are lead free.

Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS)
In 2003 the European Commission issued the Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) directive which applies to all electrical and electronic equipment placed on the market as of July 1, 2006. This legislation was enacted to improve environmental quality by restricting the use of six (6) types of substances in equipment sold or distributed in the European member states. The directive restricts the use of four (4) heavy metals and two (2) types of brominated flame retardant materials.

Specifically, these are:
1. Lead (Pb)
2. Mercury (Hg)
3. Cadmium (Cd)
4. Hexavalent Chromium
5. Polybrominated Biphenyls (PBBs)
6. Polybrominated Diphenyl Ethers (PBDEs)

As an environmentally responsible company, Magna Systems uses only materials and processes which meet RoHS requirements to manufacture its products. If for some reason, you should have any question regarding the RoHS status of a Magna Systems product, please contact Magna Systems directly so we can address the concern.
